I still think UGA was the best team last season but they have no one to blame but themselves.

Not sure how you can make that determination given their embarrassing schedule and losing to the first decent roster they faced.

Kirby not challenging the 4th down completion
stupid trick play that Beck fumbled
Letting Milroe run so much instead of doing what Michigan did

Those were big, but UGA got multiple 2nd/3rd and shorts absolutely blown up in the backfield. Those were plays they could easily convert against inferior teams but resulted in negative plays against 'Bama. Their last TD also took 4 tries from the 1 yard line to get into the endzone, forcing Kirby to burn a crucial time out and allowed 'Bama to run out the clock on the next drive.

It's taking a lot of credit away from 'Bama to say UGA just played a bad game or gave it away.

UGA played a bad game and they “wuz hurt. They wuz hurt bad”.
But the biggest reason UGA lost was the SEC refs kissing Bamas flabby arse. Somehow they are always there for Bama at critical points in the game. Wonder why?

It's like when Alabama fans always say that Alabama beat itself.

That's just silly.

UGA, Bama and OSU have elite rosters. But saying that Bama was the only decent roster UGA faced is just not accurate. UGA played (and defeated) teams ranked 15, 16, 18, 20, 22, 23 and 25 in 247's talent composite.

If your argument is you have to be in the top 10 to even have "decent" talent, that's a ridiculous line to draw. The team bama lost to in the playoff was only #14 in talent.

I don't think you should look at it that way. The biggest job of coaches is to get their team to play well. Sometimes it's not enough, but all you can ask is for your team to play well in games. It's not a fault of the team that played well to say they played to their talent level while the other team didn't. It's a compliment.

For UGA, missing field goals and losing the turnover battle are the key signs I look to when judging if UGA played well or played poorly in a game. UGA lost the turnover battle and missed a FG against Bama. In a 3 point game a missed FG and a turnover that led to a FG for the other team pretty clearly had an impact.

I don't use that as an explanation for every loss. UGA played awesome in 2017 in the NC. We just got beat. UGA played about as well as they could against Bama in the 2020 match up too. We were outmanned and out performed by a better team.

But UGA didn't play well in the last match up. They still could have lost even if they had played well, but I'm not going to say UGA had their A game when they clearly didn't.
