Alabama still has a loaded roster despite the attrition. Because it happened in a short window due to being in the CFP and then Saban’s retirement, even seems to think Alabama has like 35 guys left. Alabama is actually at 84 heading into spring camp.

Bryant and Saban did not inherit a foundation like DeBoer is.

I think Bama is easily a playoff team next year.

My questions for Deboer are on the recruiting front. I think he's a very good coach and I expect him to do well with the talent Bama has.

But Bama under Saban was usually the #1 class and if not they were in the top 3 classes every year with recruiting. I don't know if Deboer can continue that level of recruiting. If he can't, he probably will start to fade as more years pass from Saban's recruiting.

We won't see it next season though. It's more a 2026 season problem if it happens.
