With the latest ruling on NIL where there are no restrictions or guidelines I believe that high school athletes can and probably will get paid. I'm thankful my dad didn't have to witness the death throes of the game he loved .
As always my opinion and $3 will get you a cup of coffee.

It’s over. The idea of the student athlete is over. Pretty soon they won’t even enroll in classes. They’ll just be employees-paid to preform a service-or preform on the football field. It’ll basically be a glorified minor league, with the universities fielding the teams. College football as we knew it is dead.
The big time college football programs will eventually break away from the NCAA. Players will have a union and contracts. League will probably even have a salary cap. Seems inevitable at this point

Ate dinner with my high school football coach who just retired and some guys I played with. Someone asked him about NIL in high school, and he said it's already happening.
