re: What is going to take to stop the fans from charging on to the court or field?

Much rarer event in the past. Today it happens every single week. And is couched by most as a sense of entitlement.

I don’t give a damn if someone gets hurt or not. My point of contention is that a fan should keep their arse in the stands and have no business going onto a court or field.
