If you think the administration at UVA has any passing similarity to the admin at UGA when it comes to commitment to athletics, culture or activism you don’t know UGA very well.
UNC has a commitment to basketball that changes things somewhat because they understand what it takes to compete nationally.
UVA has had success recently in basketball with a unique coach and system that doesn’t require them to play the NIL recruiting game but will never commit the resources to compete nationally in football.

The word I have heard is that UVA Visitors want the SEC over the “academically oriented” Big Ten. They aren’t as left wing nor as anti-sports as you make it seem.
They also have a better baseball program with better attendance than UGA. Did a nice reno recently. They certainly could use improvement in football and I could see that happening in the SEC.

Virginia Tech fits in with us a lot more than UVA does.
