CTSN/UA has been more than accommodating. Eli doesn’t have some god given right to retain the job forever. He’d gotten bad at it and even people that worked with him said he wasn’t giving it 100% and was difficult to work with….that was pre-cancer.

His contract was up this year. He could’ve read the room and called his own shot. He didn’t. That’s not UA’s fault.

Down vote me all you want, but there’s a better way to go about removing the man who spent 35 years in the broadcast booth. No one is denying he’s slipped, no one is denying it was time for him to leave, but after giving his blood, sweat, and tears to The University of Alabama for nearly four decades, they should have went about this transition with a little more tact.
