In 2021 Russell Wilson had a better QBR than Cousins. As a rookie in 2022 Justin Fields had a better QBR than Cousins. Both are more mobile. Cousins tore his achilles, so really you dont know what he is going to look like coming into 2024. What I do know is they gave 180 million to Cousins for 3 years and the Steelers got Wilson for 1 year at the veterans minimum of 1.21 million. They got Fields for a 6th round possibly 4th round and owe him 3.2 million next year. So together they only count 4.5 million against the cap next year while Cousins cap hit is 25 million. Like I said a dumb arse move. Hell even Heinicke cap hit is twice what Wilson and Fields are together. So would you rather have a 4.5 million cap hit with 24 year old Fields and veteran Wilson for a year or 34 million for Cousins and Heinicke?

Fields is awful. There's a reason why he got traded for a conditional 2025 6th round pick. Wilson is quickly declining and he is a locker room cancer.
