So dumb that you guys are continuing to throw this hypothetical out there. He elected to receive and ended up having to kick on FG near the goal line because of it.

Before OT, everything is a hypothetical. You choose to kick or receive based on hypotheticals.

I’m just saying that it’s easy to say what he should have done now because of how it turned out.

Wel...he did not know exactly what was going to happen when he had to make the decision.

It's easy to do the hindsight thing when it plays out a certain way.

But as someone else said, had KC got the ball first, and both teams kicked a FG, the same amount of people would be killing SHanahan for choosing defense first then letting KC get a game winning FG on the 3rd possession.


Should be captain obvious stuff, but the coaches have to make the decisions in the moment without knowing what is going to happen going forward.

He didn't "have" to kick the FG.

The same rules apply.
