I think all schools especially in sec have political motivations and involvement that impact athletics
The key is separating the two
Look at bama, they nuked uab football program because they were actually competitive but were never a threat to the tide

I still say uab having football is dumb. Should be like Georgetown and focus on basketball and some nich sports.
