Maybe it wouldn't be such a bad thing if some of our more recently acquired "fans" went ahead and stepped over the ledge.

Yeah like the guy who’s been spamming this forum but is now over on the Rant with his act, the one who thinks DeBoer should be on his hands and knees begging people to stay in the name of the great god continuity.
I’m going to tread very dangerously here, and it may sound hypocritical after my admonitions of recent days that we need to adjust to a new landscape and new realities in the sport … if this had become such a cult of personality around Saban alone, maybe a little house cleaning and restructuring and “don’t let the door hit you in the arse when you leave” is in order to move away from that even if in the short term it makes people insane or even causes us a bit of pain.
The University of Alabama played football, very successful, for 114 seasons before Saban. God willing it will do the same after Saban.
