Bama has a pretty high safety net being the state school in Alabama. Saban walked into a job with good players from the previous regime as a matter of fact. Andre Smith, Wallace Gilberry, Josh Chapman, Jabier Arenas, etc. Even Rolando McClain was committed to Shula.


I am okay with this mediocre world for Bama.

Wouldn't be too sure about that. Freeze is a damn good recruiter and already has the top DL recruits in Alabama for the 2025 class. Auburn actually has the most to gain from this considering the in state recruits can go to a school on the rise. We all saw what he did at Ole Miss after only a couple of years.
