This is not hard to understand.

Saban and staff had a proven track record of getting guys into the league. That was one of the main draws of going to Bama.

You take that coaching staff away and replace with guys that don’t have the proven track record of churning out NFL draft choices and this exodus is what you get.

So guys on the team now see Saban and crew gone, so of course they are going to look to go to programs with the next best group of coaches that they feel have the track record of getting guys to the league on a consistent basis.

Dabear and his crew don’t have that rep yet.

Saban is the GM though. This is just the NEW process at Bama.

All is well

They can tel themselves that, And have Nick pose for some photos with recruits.

But until they actually see guys getting drafted at a high clip Deboer is going to struggle.

Guys came to play for Saban from all over the country. They did not grow up in Alabama.

They are leaving it is not shocking.

We will get other players to play here, but not expecting a roster shakeup is crazy. We were losing 20+ to the portal every year even when Nick was here

Real question, because I don't know the answer. How many projected starters have left Bama in the portal, not counting this year?

Nick was processing 20+ to the portal every year. Let’s be real.

These current portal entries aren’t getting processed.

Bond and Niblack on offense and Downs and Amos on defense

Oh I didn't read it right. Khyree Jackson, JoJo Earle, Javion Cohen and Jamil Burroughs in 2023. Agiye Hall, Jahleel Billingsley and Drew Sanders in 2022.

Traeshon Holden and Damieon George as well both probably would have contributed. Not 100% on George though he definitely had a shot at OL though until he decided to transfer.

Holden was surprising for sure

Most of these guys were either injury prone and passed on the depth chart or were depth players.

Not they weren’t any good because Bama had been loaded with 4 & 5 stars up until a week ago.

I just answered a question about starters. Alabama is obviously losing more, better players than they have in the last two years.

Jojo was injured for most of the 21 and 22 seasons. It’s hard not to get passed up when that happens.
