Losing a future All-Pro and MAYBE bringing in a future fringe roster player is not a trade I'd prefer to be making.

It's not a trade. It's about bringing in a talented player. They don't even play the same position. Muhammad is not a fringe roster player at all. Just because you may not know who he is doesn't mean he isn't a good player.

That's just retarded. 8-4 remains the worst case scenario. Much worse than that and you're talking losses to teams like South Carolina.

I was talking about NFL potential. But I do agree, you can't see it as a trade. It is still a net negative in overall talent on the roster. Muhammad is a good player but it isn't cinched up that he ends up in Tuscaloosa. I'd welcome him gladly though...he may be able to help with establishing DeBoer's culture here.

It is year 1 with new schemes and coaches plus a roster that is less talented than it could have been if Saban had the gas in him to give it one more go. Alabama is going to lose some games they shouldn't due to miscommunications and still some others due to gaps in the roster caused by unwanted transfer attrition. As it stands now, Alabama is playing a new defense that wants to be aggressive but both outside corners are new starters and both safeties too. The offense is without their two best returning pass catchers by yards and touchdowns.

8-4 is the realistic expectation. Remember, Urban FREAKIN Meyer got his arse WHIPPED by Mike Shula in 2005. He had never seen that team speed on defense in the MAC or MWC. DeBoer is going to get the same sort of baptism by fire too.
