FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas freshman left-hander Colin Fisher will undergo surgery on his throwing elbow Monday, Razorbacks coach Dave Van Horn said during the monthly Swatter’s Club meeting.

Van Horn said the surgery is scheduled for 3 p.m. He is unsure whether Fisher will have an internal brace operation or the more invasive Tommy John surgery. Both operations address issues with the ulnar collateral ligament.

Van Horn also announced freshman lefty Hunter Dietz will undergo another procedure on his left elbow that will sideline him for 4 to 6 months. Dietz had a procedure last fall to address a stress fracture.

Van Horn said he is hopeful Dietz will be able to pitch some during fall practice and be part of the Razorbacks’ weekend rotation next season.
