Yeah I think having to "part ways" after your first season following the Goat would mean you are not long for this world . I do get why you would consider that strategy.

Honestly I have skepticism that Saban was recommending him. He had the option to make him DC or Co-DC before. Maybe I'm off and he didn't have time this go round.

The other thing about TRob is he almost always works for a defensive head coach and had a co-coordinator thay can help. Tuberville, Diaz, Muschamps, Saban, now Kirby. That doesn't mean he isn't capable, but (sans support from Saban) he would be on his own for the first time.

Kevin Steele made it sound like he had inside information that TRob would be moving up "very soon." He knew he was retiring, and clearly thought the guy was going to get an interview so to say.

For me it's gotten a little personal with Kirby thinking he can raid our staff like he's big dick on campus.

I would really like to take Schumann by offering him the full DC position, or hire TRob back as full DC simply to send a message to Athens that we still run shite. You'd think us beating their brains out 9 out of 10 last games would clear that up but kirby is proving to be a ruthless coach. Good for him.
