I think its a great hire.
Only time will tell but I think its key that Saban is still there to help him get acclimated to the SEC.
Yes, there will have to be new relationships built during recruiting with the regions HS coaches but all that can be initiated with a phone call from Saban to get him into HS DeBoer desires. Alabama recruits itself but it'll be up to DeBoer to keep those established pipelines open.
Huge shoes to fill and I'm not expecting Saban 2.0 but I do see rhe team being competitive year in and year out with DeBoer. He just wins

Who were you going to get that would be better? A+ especially considering the timing of Saban's retirement. I guess you could argue that Kirby would have been better but Bama is shooting for higher than 3 CFP appearances in 8 years.
