For all of you on the "Bama will be terrible next year because they are starting an inexperienced QB" bandwagon, consider this: Oklahoma, in 2007, started a redshirt freshman with ZERO game experience. They won the Big 12 and went to the Fiesta Bowl. But, some of you will say, they did it with a highly ranked QB!! No, they didn't. Bradford was given a three star rating. He was ranked the #12 "Pro-style QB" by Rivals in 2006. Want to take a guess as to who was #11? Greg McElroy.
Don't generalize every other teams', especially Alabama's, future seasons because LSU couldn't make it work with a new QB. The precedent is there to show you that it can, and most likely will work, given Bama's defense.

ok. remind me when the last time you're team had the same ammount of talent depth that oklahoma does?
The chances that a redshirt freshman can come in and light it up is very slim.
Not trying to be a jerk to you because you're a bammer I'm just giving my opinion
I tried to say the same thing this past year with jarrett lee and we all see how that turned out.

So are you predicting your QB to have a year like:
237/341 3121 yards. 32 TDs, 8 Ints
I think you are more likely to get play similar to Jarrett Lee than Bradford. Maybe you'll be lucky and get a guy who does as good as David Greene his Freshman year or even Matt Stafford.
The "precendent" says that you won't.
I think you could look at other Saban coached teams with good defenses and first year QBs. 2004 LSU comes to mind.

You used a really shitty example to prove your point.

SEC Defenses > Big 12 Defenses

Did you see those TWO BEAUTIFUL PASSES he threw against Auburn (in junk time against scrub DBs). That was pure poetry!

I could probably throw a touchdown pass agianst those Db's. I swear, If the dude had thrown like 15 or so passes, maybe you could make a judgement off of the game. For one thing, Who the hell throws a "go" in garbage time. The auburn guy never had a chance, nobody expects that kind of lack of sportsmanship, even tubby's boys.

When you have the best backup QB in NCAA history you can do that!!!

No. We don't run the spread like Oklahoma. But if McElroy could duplicate what JPW did this past year, then we should be right back in Atlanta at the end of the season. None of you seem to realize that our QB produced 9, count em, 9 TDs this season. As long as McElroy MANAGES the game, Alabama will win 10 games.

Calm down cowboy. No one knows what the wonder boy who threw two perfect passes against Auburn's scout team will do next year.
Here is to hoping Auburn really sticks it to Bama next year for that last TD btw.

You're right. Sometimes I just forget the facts. By the way, the only other offers McElroy had were BYU, Colorado, North Carolina, Stanford, UNLV, and TCU. I'll bet Bama doesn't go to the SECCG next year.

I hate to say it but I see Bama, LSU, and Ole Miss all with 2 SEC losses next season. It will be a matter of who beats who for the tiebreaker.

This is my OBJECTIVE opinion on the new QB thing at UA.
First of all, they are losing some key members to OL that has been discussed on here.
See UGA and Moreno's stats to see if losing some key OL have anything to do with success. Moreno was supposed to have a good year this year by UGA fan's standards. They didn't think the OL would be an issue with Moreno, and he would just hurdle everybody. Not saying that Coffee and Ingram are going to tank, but they will struggle.
Teams are going to play Bama like they played LSU this year. They are going to put alot of guys in the box and force the new QB to beat them. The good thing going for Bama right now is they will have a solid D who will keep them in ballgames, and Saban will try to limit the amount of mistakes the new QB has by running the ball most of the time. I think Bama will probably go 9-3, 8-4 at worse. If LSU struggles like they did this season, they could go 10-2.

Also, I think some defensive players from LSU, Ole Miss, and Tennessee may have McElroy wishing he had gone to UNLV.

Pretty stupid. Moreno led the SEC in rushing this year. Gained 1300+ yards and averaged almost 6 per carry. Moreno was supposed to have a good year and DID have a good year.
