Those selfish players went undefeated.

Bama could not.

Sure but that only means something when your comparing apples to apples schedule wise. A full strength FSU team loses 2 games against Alabama's schedule. Injuries and ipt outs aside, they aren't beating Texas and Georgia.

To put the two schedules in perspective consider the following bowl results...

USF - 45
Syracuse - 0

Those two teams were the 8th best team on each team's respective schedule

Clemson - 38
Kentucky - 35

The 4th best team on FSU's schedule needed a last minute touchdown drive to slip by the 6th or 7th best team on Alabama's schedule and that same 6th or 7th best team on Alabama's schedule beat the 2nd best team on FSU's schedule on their home field and put up over twice as many points as FSU did in doing so.

That's just a small snapshot example of how weak FSU's schedule was in comparison to Alabama's and why there was some justification to put a 1 loss Alabama team in the playoff ahead of an undefeated FSU team.

Not to mention that even the absolute weakest teams on Georgia's schedule ALL managed to stay within 60 points of Georgia during the regular season.

If FSU would have even managed to stay within 30 points of Georgia they may have had somewhat of a legitimate argument but not when you lose by the largest margin in bowl game history.

Those are just flimsy assumptions. Even Auburn beat Alabama. Teams have bad games.
