The SEC might luck out if y'all got someone really bad as a replacement, but with LSU resources the odds are better you'd find a young, hungry coach that gets you back to winning championships.

Kelly staying is the better bet if you compete directly with LSU.

No, that is the troll/hope. The narrative is that he's a professional who worked with the limited resources that he had at ND, even bringing them to a NC and playoff appearance.

What he's done in his first two years after Orgeron at LSU is nothing short of amazing, and Kelly for approximately a decade at LSU before retiring and LSU moving on to a younger talented coach is worst case scenario if you compete directly with LSU.

Kelly is a good coach but I think I agree with you. He’s 62 and been a HC longer than Saban. It’s likely we’ve seen peak Brian Kelly already.
