I think AU fans banging their chest over our recruiting is just as dumb as posts like yours that thinks Bama doesn’t spend money for recruits. You may be old but your thinking is as juvenile as the ones you think you’re posting to.

I don’t see anywhere in his post claiming that Bama doesn’t spend money. This is a project on your part. He’s claiming that recruiting isn’t just about money. Recruits absolutely care about playing time, winning, development, etc.

It’s silly for Bama fans to insinuate that AU is just buying their players too. AU offers something very different to Bama currently - early playing time and chance to help “rebuild”.

His main point was that it’s silly to thump your chest over some high value recruits choosing AU. Every recruit is a battle, and AU is doing well… but not to the detriment of Bama like many AU fans seem to hope. Bama still signed a Top 2 class…

Now let’s see how your recruiting wins translate on the field, because that’s really all that matters. If a team had a Top 3 recruiting class every year and didn’t win anything of significance, I would argue their fans wouldn’t be too pleased.

It is well deserved compared what has happened in regard to recruiting prior to Freeze coming in.

In the end though we saw what happened at a&m with deep pockets and that it does not translate to wins. So time will tell and the new system now coaches no longer have time because players will just leave.

The game is now based on a player's market with the coaches having to navigate the landscape. Freeze has always been able to recruit and create a dynamic offense, but can he sustain with the current system as we have seen many that cannot. Time will tell.
