DJ James doesn't need the Senior Bowl. Like I said he is already predicted to be a top three round pick. He also has film against the SEC. He doesn't need the week long dog and pony show to show what he has. If he is concerned about injuries then dont play. If he wants to play then he needs to prove himself for the team that gave him the chance to play himself up to the NFL.

That’s just not how it works now. Not disagreeing with you just telling you what reality is.

That’s why I posted the thread about bowl games being meaningless and should coaches be judged on bowl game wins and losses. The only ones that matter are playoff games.

Heck Texas backup QB is in the portal. The 2nd string guy. 1 play away from playing and has left the team to go into the portal.

Dog and pony show? The Senior Bowl is a week of one-on-one practices in front of all the scouts and GM's. It's literal one-on-one reps against some of the better WR's in the country.

The game itself means nothing, but the actual week of practice is incredibly important. A guy who is "projected top three rounds" can easily move up a round with a strong week of practice.

The Bowl game by comparison changes nothing; he already has two full seasons worth of game tape in the SEC. Playing against Maryland isn't going to change anything for him.
