Here's the Heisman criteria

quote:

The Heisman Trophy is annually awarded to the most outstanding college football player in the United States whose performance epitomizes great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work.

How your team did isn't supposed to be and should not be a consideration at all. If anything when it comes to Daniels, those losses should have HELPED his case.

vs FSU he was LSU's leading rusher and rushed or passed for 410 of their 459 yards (89%).

vs Ole Miss he rushed or passed for 513 of their 637 yards (81%) and was 2 yards shy of being the leading rusher. Take out sack yardage and he was easily the leading rusher.

vs Alabama he missed the last 12 minutes but still rushed or passed for 382 of their 478 yards (78%) and rushed for 4x as many yards as the rest of the team combined.

The fact that he played his best against his teams best opponents spoke volumes about his individual talent because in truth overall LSU just wasn't very good. Without him, they also 100% lose to Arky and Mizzou and possibly lose to Florida and aTm as well.
