You don’t think Bryant cared about what happened to his SCHOOL?

What are you.. 35?

Bryant loved the University and believe it or not, he loved the SEC.

He had a team ranked #1 in his final season.. it fell apart down the stretch.. partly because his health was bad. He immediately retired because he said , “it’s what’s best for Alabama”.

Exactly why Bear did hang on, loyalty to his staff and the administration. He was AD and HC.

shame he didn’t care enough about his University (not to mention Mary Harmon and their family) to quit drinking and smoking in, say, 1973 or so
