The man was not the offensive guru he was reported to be. His offense was pedestrian at best and required extraordinary play from incredibly talented athletes too succeed (see Achane). He refused to hire a special teams coach. He refused to let go of the reins of the offense. He was actually not good at developing QB’s. He peaked with Mond and, due to his mismanagement of OL development, was well on his way to ruining Weigman.

I said before that we would have some attrition from this. Of course we will. But we were going nowhere and if you aren’t progressing, particularly in this current environment, you get left in the dust quickly.
