Arkansas has always had a recruiting disadvantage going back to the SWC days. Being the only member not from Texas was a real issue.

Arkansas has lost a decent presence in Texas back when they left the SWC. They got good talent from that state but often down the pecking order to Texas, A&M and Oklahoma.

Now with more prestigious programs recruiting the state, Arkansas had to recruit other states that weren't historically recruited.

Texas and Oklahoma joining would make no difference as both had greater success for decades recruiting the state of Texas.
