So, 1941 which everyone says is bogus and four won according to the rules of the bodies that awarded titles at the time and thus no more 'tainted' than LSU's 2003 split title or two loss BCS invite in 2007.

Glad you see the light.

My point is simply this: in every other sport in the world, losing to a team you are otherwise tied with means that you are behind them in the standings. Every sport except College Football.

It's the same reason Texas would be ahead of Bama this year and that Bama would be ahead of UGA this year.

But, in those mid-1970s years, Bama got the benefit of the doubt few if any other teams would have gotten.

LSU has never won a legitimate national championship

None of those LSU championships have this head-to-head problem. The fact that LSU didn't play 1958 Auburn or 2003 USC is irrelevant to my point. (Oh, and Tua's injury wasn't the reason LSU beat Bama in 2019)

GEAUX TIGERS

PS: If Bama wins it all this year, I think it will be more legitimate than either 2011 or 2017, as they reached the playoff by actually playing in and winning the SECCG.
