Sure, the SEC is good and has been better than everyone else

There’s no doubt LSU, Georgia, Auburn, etc. have had some great, memorable years sprinkled in but Alabama and Saban is the primary driver of the monster the SEC has become in these past approximate 20 years.

Whenever Saban calls it a day, the chances will likely be that Alabama returns to earth for awhile (I already feel sorry the the next Bama HC) and when that happens I suspect the national perceived “SEC dominance” will not continue on as it has to the level it has. Things will even out again.

We’ll continue to see some great teams, great seasons and even great eras, but not sure any of us will again see a program, (even post-Saban Alabama itself) have another sustained run for the length of time Saban and Alabama have.

No disrespect to the SEC as a whole because it’s a great conference with great football and great history.

But let’s be honest - what Bama and Saban have sustained for the length of time they have is not normal. Not in today’s age.

Just an “outsider’s” two-cents…
