You presume that the 85 scholarship model will remain in place. If this keeps trending towards being NFL lite and players are paid, the number of scholarships given will eventually look like the number of players on an NFL roster. Reduced scholarships to the power conference teams will hurt the 3 star player. They will in a pool scrapping for partials at programs that don’t have NIL collectives and tread water to field a program at all. This will be the deal within 5 years. The majors aren’t going to pay for 25-30 extra scholarships when they can just work the portal to sign other teams 4 and 5 star recruits that have been developed for a year or two at the major conference level.

I just watched an explanation/apology video from Radi where it basically said that Georgia had a deal in place for Caleb Downs for about 500K and Downs and his family agreed to it, and then at about 8 p.m. that night he changed his mind and toook the deal from Ohio State for a little more than 1 million.

Radi said it shocked the shite out of everybody in the football department and the NIL department and even the President's office.
