All of which, possibly, can be gleamed from crossover data such as this. Obviously, final scores mean less than actual game stats and observation data from game films, but this is a starting point to a conversation.

The interesting thing I've seen develop over the course of the season is UGA is not quite as hardened in the middle against the run as the past two seasons. Understandable, I see what their boys are doing on defense for the Eagles and others in the NFL. They're not a bad run defense but you can run the ball on them with good scheme.

Alabama has developed into a pretty good running team too. A lot of it is getting the QB involved in the run game but the OL is doing well at reestablishing the LOS upfield rather than getting stalemated, beaten, or put on skates.

I think this is the key to the game. If Alabama can get the tailbacks going for 4 yard runs, Georgia will man up the receivers, and Milroe can start unleashing the dragon.

That's my "well you're saying there is a chance" analysis for Alabama. Vegas thinks it is a 31-27 type UGA win and that seems right to me.

Solid post.

I, too, think that THE matchup is your ability to establish the run, or lack there of. I think UGA will score. Not at will, but enough, if Alabama can't slow them down by controlling the possessions.
