That call is indicative of coaches not being situationally aware. It’s fourth and 30. The only place that pass is going is into the end zone. if you’re a smart defensive coordinator you dial up something to force him to throw to an area you want him to throw. Bring a blitz and force him out of the pocket to his left. Now he has to set his shoulders on the run to make the pass but more importantly you’re cutting the field in half allowing db’s to converge on a much smaller area. What you don’t want to do is allow him to take his time while you’re forcing your db’s to cover 5 receivers in man coverage, sideline to sideline for 10 plus seconds. You can replay that down 100 times with that trash defensive call and you’ll get the same result over and over and over.

There's a stat that teams are something like 0-90 on 3rd and 4th down of 30 or more yards the last 2 years and AU just gave up the first one. Not that exactly but you get the drift.

Blizz, I agree so wholeheartedly. Rush 4, maybe 3, from the throwers throwing-arm to force him over.

Bad designed plan. They have their 5 6'-3" receivers out there to our 6'-0" DBs.
