Sure, he upgraded their talent a LOT. He deserves credit for that. But he is a lousy coach, at least so far. Literally no other coach at the FBS level loses a game at home vs. Stanford after leading 29-0 at half. No one.
Also, nobody else would be dumb/arrogant enough to choose to take the ball first in OT after winning the coin toss. And he's done it TWICE already. What coach in their right mind would purposely put themselves at a tactical disadvantage like that?
An average FBS coach would be 6-4, at least, with their schedule and roster.
