Greg McElroy has an interpretation of Texas and A&M that is colored by his perception of two things....
#1 is how things are in Alabama based on how he views the Auburn/Alabama rivalry, and #2 the way things specifically were in 2004-2006 when he graduated high school and was recruited.
But that entire conception that Division 1 (or 1-A or FBS or whatever) in Texas is in any way similar to how it is in the state of Alabama is idiotic, nor is it true that for whatever reason 2005 is the definitive microcosm of how it always is Texas.
Saying that Texas A&M is and always will be #2 in Texas is as dumb as trying to apply that #1 vs #2 logic to many other states where it doesn't work that way like Florida or California or even places where you think it would be so simple, like Virginia or Indiana.
