Now that Zach Arnett has been canned at MSU and it looks like Sam Pittman is probably going to be fired at Arkansas, which job would have more job security?

MSU-the bar is set pretty low. Win 7 or more games most years and you're probably safe for quite a long time. However, as much as I personally like Starkville/MSU (the most freakishly nice people I have ever met), it's not for everyone and it's not the easiest place to recruit.

Arkansas-better facilities and a better recruiting base (no other P-5 schools in the state, plus the Hogs usually pull some talent out of Louisiana/Texas) but probably higher expectations. You probably need to win 8-10 games per year most years to keep your job.

So, which is it?

I would probably lean toward the Miss State job. If the circumstances had been different with Arnett taking over, I believe he would’ve been given more time.

Mississippi State.

The in-state talent, especially on the defensive line, is much better. They border Louisiana and Alabama so they can poach some guys from there. Memphis isn't close, but it isn't far.

If they can land a dude who can beat Lane for the higher ranked kids in Mississippi they can compete with almost anyone in the SEC on a game by game basis.
