Shaun Alexander win that SEC title for DuBose. Other than that season (during which he lost to La Tech at home) he had seasons with 3 wins, 7 wins, and 4 wins.

Pittman is at least on a par with DuBose and since he’s likely smart enough to not bang his secretary, he’s likely better. He would certainly have a 10 win season at Bama. With the exception of Ears Whitworth, every Bama coach since the end of WW1 has done it at least once.

Sam pittman isn't winning 10 games at any school. Why? Because he would melt under the pressure at schools with much higher expectations. He had one fluke season and that was his best. That his why he fired his agent and hired Jimmy Sexton to get a raise. He understood that 9-4 was his ceiling. He was going to retire before being hired and that raise is his retirement money.

Ever since that he has been on a decline and if not fired after this season then he has a very high probability that he will go 0-8 in the SEC next year.
