Arkansas football is already living in the Danny Ford, John L. Smith and Chad Morris years in real time. A few winning seasons don't remove the fact that Arkansas football still sucks.

Past performances aren't always the best indicator of future performances as the future isn't set.

Arkansas has and have continued to make one bad coaching hire after another.

The coaches after Petrino were given plenty of time to succeed or fail. John L. doesn't count as he was an interim coach.

Nutt was the most successful coach in the SEC for Arkansas just because he stayed the longest. But Petrino had back to back 10 win seasons since 88-89 in just four years.

Nutt didn't resign but was fired. He averaged seven wins a year at Arkansas.

Nutt won or shared SEC West titles in 1998, 2002 and 2006.

Nutt had two losing seasons in 2004 and 2005. He became the first head football coach to survive back to back losing seasons since the early 50s.

He was given a two year pass by his boss which he didn't earn nor deserve.

Yes he won the SEC West but many hog fans were burned out with Nutt and just wanted him to go away.

Oh it also didn't help that he failed to win an SEC title with arguably the greatest RBs in SEC history going 18-16.
