Sam Pittman would certainly not have any 10 win seasons at Bama or any other school.

Sam Pittman is not a better coach than Mike Shula and certainly not better than a coach that won an SEC title. Dubose went 16-16 in the SEC. Shula went 13-19. Both are better than Pittman who is currently 11-22 in the SEC.

Curry and Perkins are both 14-6 and 14-9-1 in the SEC respectively. Both end up finishing in the top 25 multiple times and that includes an SEC title.

The reasons he went 9-4 in 2021 is that he had the element of surprise. Which means that he snuck up on the SEC who wasn't expecting anything from Arkansas.

He inherited a mixed group of seniors and super seniors from Bert and Chad that was vital in close games that year.

He had a once in a generation WR at Arkansas that made that offense roll.

Once those advantages were gone. The last two years, the whole nation saw the real Sam Pittman in that he is just.....bad.

Shaun Alexander win that SEC title for DuBose. Other than that season (during which he lost to La Tech at home) he had seasons with 3 wins, 7 wins, and 4 wins.

Pittman is at least on a par with DuBose and since he’s likely smart enough to not bang his secretary, he’s likely better. He would certainly have a 10 win season at Bama. With the exception of Ears Whitworth, every Bama coach since the end of WW1 has done it at least once.
