I heard about this last night and then saw the article on the front webpage. I have no dog in this fight but this lawsuit seems like nothing more than a shameless attempt to score some cash since the player had a less than zero chance of ever making it to the NFL.
Hopefully, it gets tossed and this kid gets told to pound sand.

He got kicked off the team but he still is on athletic scholarship, getting his stipend, and has access to all student and athletic services.
Dude was not showing up for the job that gave him all that financial assistance and services. Finally goes to see his coach after 3 weeks and was recording the conversation to get dirt.
He may be depressed but he is definitely a shitbag.

Frivolous and should be dismissed. The player didn’t fulfill his responsibilities.

Also, critically, they never actually removed anything of consequence. You do not have a legal right to participate in team activities.

Josh Pate talked about it yesterday on his show and I couldn’t agree more with him.
