I went back and watched it. My problem with that being called targeting is that Milroe lowers his head and shoulders, too. What is a defender supposed to do in that moment? Which is why I would much prefer to see the targeting penalty be removed entirely. Football is chaotic and violent. Make football physical again and go back to penalizing players for flagrant and intentional headshots, not incidental contact. And I’m not being hypocritical. The head contact on Daniels was also incidental.
