Everybody said this. He is gonna win a huge game every year, have a bad loss and then a bunch of games that could either way. The counter was, well he has better talent than at ND but he also plays a helluva lot tougher schedule at LSU than at Notre Dame. He reminds me of Billy Curry. You knew you were gonna be good but never great.
I know this. Miles was goofy as everything but I don't miss playing his defenses. They were hell. Kelly's defenses have never been great no matter where he was coaching.

Previous stops dont matter when coaches have came to LSU in the past 2 decades, how is it people still havent learned this after Saban/Miles/Coach O? Why does nobody talk about their previous stints before coming to LSU now? Is it because they all managed to win much better here? Kelly also has won at every stop he's been to previously, for whatever reason people act like he was some underachiever or something. The guy won national titles before, won at CMU, Cincinnati and ND.

Kelly did a good job at ND, the guy got them to the NCG and had an undefeated season. People act like ND should be Bama or Ohio State, they arent that and havent been in a very long time. He won at least 10 games 6 of his last 7 seasons at ND. 3 of his last 4 seasons were 11 wins or more. Weis failed before him at ND, Willingham failed before him at ND, Davie failed before him at ND. The alst time ND had a truly great season before Kelly got there was 1993 Lou Holtz

When it looked like ND would become the next Nebraska after Lou Holtz he ended up winning and winning a lot more than the previous coaches did and taking them to heights they hadnt gotten to in decades.
