Griffen is a very solid player, might be a late 1st rd NBA guy if he develops a better handle.

I don’t do social media especially as it relates to following players so if he’s smack talking Bama obviously I’m not a fan, but his perimeter defense in the tournament was a key factor in the team going from where they were during the regular season to ending in the F4.

I also just refuse to view any of these guys like I used to because they’re just minor league professionals at this point. So some guy transferring to catch a paycheck from Kansas is no different than a pitcher leaving the braves for a huge deal with some other team.

I don't disagree with any of this.
I don't follow any athlete on social media. I use it to get news mostly. But I know the potential of monetization. I also understand the urgency of collecting as much money as possible in college. Most of these dudes are going to grind out a living in the G League or overseas. I have zero understanding of why a guy that's making $500k+ wouldn't want to stay in college for 5 years. Every year a solid player could get a raise and parley a 5 year career into over $2m. I also think guys will realize this and start staying in college. The market will work it out.
The same for guys in football.

Idk why the NCAA won't lift the eligibility rules. Why not allow a guy play 8 years in college if he remains a student? Why limit the universities to only having a player to 4-5 years? It's dumb. Especially since universities are paying these players more than they can make in the G League or overseas??

I also am for universities having summer leagues for guys that don't get to play much. Kind of like JV for the underclassmen. Make them redshirt and only have redshirt players eligible and have summer league games. It could be mostly regional so that travel expenses are lower, then right before summer is over, have a tournament like the NIT. People would go see these games like people watch minor league baseball. It would also do a lot for player development and rehab for injured players. It could be like under 17 soccer matches.
