THIS... I can't understand why Arkansas would eat an upfront cost of 40-43 mill for a guy that has all the signs of the game passing him by and he is 65 years old.. Why not just make Drew the highest paid coach in basketball and offer him 12 million a year and whatever he wants. Heck, even Otzelberger would have made more sense.

I imagine there was some negotiation to lessen the buyout between both parties since there was clear differences between the two (ie, a divorce). I've heard numerous agents say over the years that rarely are these buyouts actually paid straight up.
