Curious here. Does anyone in the NBA run a system similar to Oats? Would his system translate in the NBA? I dont watch the NBA while the college game is in full swing and dont have a team that I care to pull for. Who knows, KC may get a team again. I liked the Kings when Nate Archibald played for them.

I think his approach shares some similarities to the Steve Kerr Warriors. Dubs are very much a 3pt, layup, dunk predicated offense but they do have some mid-range game because the NBA court setup incentivizes it more than college. Additionally, the Dubs defense really only works well when they have a versatile forward who can just about guard all 5 positions adequately. I'd argue the downward trend of the Dubs is directly related to Klay Thompson losing his ability on defense but even more importantly Draymond Green being completely busted.

Alabama, to that point, is basically only ever good on defense when they have someone like Herb or Clowney.

Green is having his best season from 3 he probably has ever had, and is still a great defensive player. His biggest strength is facilitating and getting the ball to the real playmakers. Would love to have a Draymond type player for Bama.
