I have no real knowledge on the innerworkings of NIL, so I'm just kind of spit balling here. But I feel like it might be harder to utilize NIL deals for national brands?

Small to Midsize companies typically have business targeted towards a specific region or areas - which can sometimes align with the footprint of a certain university. It might not be practical for a national brand like Walmart or Tyson to have a advertising campaign with just KJ Jefferson (for example) when they can just develop a more generic one they can use all across the country?

Maybe if Arkansas had a winning team with a Heisman Trophy contender. but they dont... (had to throw that in)

In short, money drys up quick when your bad.
