but can it/will it be done.

Will it? I have no idea. Like you said, the PTB haven't shown much willingness to do what's needed in a while

Can it? I believe so. I'm not talking about being SEC or Natty Champs every year. But I do think we can compete at a fairly high level with a chance at the expanded CFP at least every 4-5 years. It would take the right coach and commitment from the PTB though.

Barring an extreme turnaround this year, though, I am definitely looking ahead to basketball and baseball season.

Arkansas has one of the top 10 NIL collectives in the entire college football world, so the support is there from everyone outside of the university and AD. I was actually surprised to learn that we were in the top 10 in NIL, but sure enough we are.

A great coach will see that as an opportunity worth taking. In-state talent doesn't matter as much anymore with the transfer portal, you can go out and lure the top players from smaller programs with NIL deals and a chance to play at an SEC school - quickly becoming one of the only two or three actual conferences worth anything, probably the top conference if we're being honest.

There's fan support from an entire state and top of the line facilities, a nice stadium and opportunities for players to become rockstars on Hogs+.

We have all the right makings of a higher tier program, just need to get the right coaching in place and shake this losing stigma that follows us around. That'll take a complete overhaul of the personnel and a complete overhaul of the attitude and preparation. Half of winning in football consistently is playing with the confidence that you CAN and WILL win. We're missing that killer instinct under Sam and our last few coaches.

We need a hard arse, young and hungry bright mind behind the helm. The rest is there for success, we just need a coaching and mentality overhaul.
