Why are some people saying Milroe made a bad pass. That was the perfect pass. When a defense is in zone as a receiver when you find the soft spot you sit on it. Bond moved toward the defender. Even Bond acknowledged his mistake. I was very proud to see Jalen make that read. He takes a lot of flak for supposedly not reading a defense but he does. Anyone who says that was a bad pass clearly never played football.

Agreed.

He played pretty decent. Definitely not a prolific passer but good enough (I mean we are comparing him to Bryce, Tua, and Mac).

I still want to see them design more runs and options around his talents. And we have to scheme around the spy that will be there every Saturday.

FIFY

In response to your post. Yes you are correct regarding Bond drifting rather than sitting in the window. However, Jalen is still the same guy. 1-2 boneheaded throws a game, bad pocket awareness, and struggles with accuracy in the short to medium throws. It is what it is.

This is his team. They all seem to play harder for him. Especially OL and WR. His toughness and grit is easy to cheer for as a fan as well. I just hope he continues to improve and those 1-2 boneheaded decisions don’t cost us dearly in a tight game.

It’s not the most unfair in the world to assume Milroe made a bad read. But yea I think that was on Bond

I thought it was on both of them. Didn’t sit on the route and the throw was less than desirable

Throw was perfectly to the soft spot in the zone where Bond should have sat at.

That was all on Bond. As a WR if he wants to make it in the next level he needs to learn how to read zone/man while running his route and adapt accordingly.

Pop pass in the red zone when we really need it will be there this year. The middle of the defense (the spy LB basically) will crash hard on Milroe.

They don't know football. I don't know anyone who blamed Milroe on that pass.

I made that very comment. From my seat in the stadium without multiple replays, it looked like a bad throw. I’ve seen it in film and see tha Bond was drifting outside, so I will gladly retract that criticism. I will say that it pretty funny to have all of the Bama Board experts showing their football knowledge spouting what the on air guy said almost word for word. Comments l8ke “They don’t know football” are thrown around a lot by people who only know what they are told to know.

He’s going to improve as time goes on. I think the added stress of possibly losing the job hindered his confidence a bit in the first couple of games. We’ve been spoiled with elite QBs for several years. People have forgotten that we won a lot of games with non-NFL talented QBs. This year is tougher because the O line hasn’t been clicking, but they appeared to do a bit better in the second half. Miss St. will be a good test for an away game.

Most definitely. It will give him a good test run before going into Kyle field and facing the 12th man.
