Saban had a lot of help from boosters/ bagmen and a good friend running the NCAA turning a blind eye. Those 2 circumstances alone helped him tremendously. I'd be willing to bet almost every college dynasty since the 50/60's has won with that same formula. I know schools like OU had the "slush fund" to pay players many decades ago when they were beating everyone..
I'm not sure if another coach at BAMA or any school can reproduce it now in the NIL/ transfer portal era; it seems like BAMA is already struggling a little now with Saban still there..

There will be a couple of programs that master the NIL/Portal hurdle and will dominate the game for several years running in the not too distant future. Would not be surprised if it isn't one of the same teams who have dominated the game of late. Bama and Ohio State will certainly be in the mix. UGA may or may not be, we tend to be slow in adapting. Probably Either Texas or Oklahoma. Possibly Southern Cal. It will take a couple of years but the cream will rise to the top no matter how the rules change. It may take a few years but it will happen.
