The issue is the complaints are not backed by fact or way overblown in a lot of cases. People who don’t understand basic strategy or zone vs man need to spend some time doing that before they make blanket statements about a player or coaching decision. There are plenty of areas the team can improve on and things individual players need to improve on as well. There can be legitimate conversations on this, but it is hard when people don’t want to learn the basics of football and parrot stuff stated by other dum dums. You do not need to be an ex player to learn this stuff, it helps, but is not required. Top that with people making assumptions on what the player’s responsibility is on a certain play. We can make guesses, but we really do not know.

As example, an OLB may have gap responsibilities on a certain play and is expecting another player to have outside contain. When a play goes to the outside and the other player misses the fill, it is easy to blame the guy who it appears let it happen, when in fact he did his job. We all can make guesses, but we can not speak authoritatively on it. I’m sure I have been guilty of this , so no fan is really above this. There certainly are a lot of thongs we can see clearly, but there are a lot we are making assumptions on.
