It may sound like BS, but ARK leaving the SWC was damaging to their ability to compete at a high level. Our rivalry drove Arkansas to a higher level. The pure hate they held for Texas, and we, them, made both programs better.

I have a gut feeling Arkansas will improve once our mutual hate starts to truly shine through again.

It is true that when Arkansas left the SWC, they fell of.

It destroyed recruiting in Texas in an era where you had to go to the games to watch these teams.

Arkansas should have continued to play Texas or A&M and that would have helped them in the SEC.

But instead they had to recruit unfamiliar areas such as Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Florida as examples.

It didn't help that Ken Hatfield left, the facilities were not SEC standards and Jack Crowe losing to the Citadel. He also had the first losing season since the 60s.

Arkansas quit trying and just feels so lost in the SEC.

I do agree that playing Texas again but this loser football culture has been stuck with them since the Citadel loss and the fans are really the victims.

Arkansas is good at making excuses when they lose games they shouldn't, that didn't happen when they standards.
