These stats come via Zac Blackerby
Thorne is 2 of 9 on passes between 10-19 yards
Robby hasn’t completed a pass beyond the line of scrimmage 0 of 4
Thorne is 10 of 13 when being blitz
Thorne is 6 of 14 on play action
On deep passes Thorne is 3-3 to the left, 2-3 in the middle, and 0-4 to the right.
This isn’t from ZB but the break down of snaps for our QBs from 2 games
80 snaps for Thorne
40 snaps for Robby
11 snaps for Holden

I guess they don’t count the passes that were completed and brought back because of penalties. Otherwise, this is untrue.

Stats don’t lie bro. No one has an agenda against Robby. We just want to win and win big. For fricks sake Robby is getting plenty of opportunities for QB2. You should enjoy that. Instead of trying to prop him up when nothing is there. The stats weren’t to be taken negatively about either QB. Just interesting stats.

For jville
Robby has 2-3 rushing TDs. Yea!

Just off the top of my head, Ashford threw a dime slant to Fair on 3rd and 6 against UMass. That was definitely past the line of scrimmage, because it was at the 1st down mark.
Around the 50:47 mark

Yes he completed the pass but was taken off for a penalty. Same as if a running back run for an 80 yard touchdown but called back for holding. The running back doesn’t get to keep those rush yards.
I’m not sure what your take is on why the constant propping up Robby. What has he done other than a few nice runs last season. He had a couple nice throws last year as well. But still was a less than 50% passer. And still is. I see nothing that he should get undying support. I support all Auburn Tigers but I can also see when someone isn’t or can’t get the job done.
Hey I’m a huge Sean Jackson fan. He has done nothing but be successful on the field when he gets in. But I ain’t on here saying Sean should play above another guy or making excuses why he isn’t above another guy or doesn’t get the opportunities he could get. And o really believe against a middle of the pack SEC team that if you gave Sean 25 touched 20 rushes maybe 5 passes he would probably get about 175 yards. That’s my thought but doesn’t make it fact or true. Same way your fandom is but not sure why you have to try to find fault in another to make your guy look better when he clearly isn’t.

Do you think Thorne has it in him to put up 350+ on LSU, or go into Tuscaloosa with a terrible offense and put up 27 on Bama? I’ve seen nothing so far to suggest that. Thorne was scared to death against freaking Cal. Ashford has a way higher ceiling than Thorne. He’s not the best QB in the country by any means, but he’s the best we have unless Holden comes from out of nowhere.

Probably not with the 350+… 27 against Bama maybe.
I don’t think any of those are possible for Robby. That’s my opinion. He’s been here 2 years and nothing has shown me he can do it.

It all comes down to what the coaches think.
You think Robby is best for the offense.
I think Thorne at this time is best for the offense.
Difference is I don’t need to build up Thorne for a 6 yard pass for proof he can complete a forward pass. I can cheer for the best for both.

He literally did it last season. Wtf are you talking about?

Posted on 9/14/23 at 8:59 pm to jvilletiger25
Jville did you ask a trick question or some shite. You talking in riddles? Punk!?

I know he threw for 300+ against LSU. I know how much we scored on Bama. Did we win either one?
If we didn’t I don’t give a shite.
Just like if Thorne had thrown for 500 last weekend and we lost to cal big shite.
I’m not a fortune teller. And I seriously doubt Robby would go for 300 against anyone. I actually put the over under for Robby at 300 if he remains QB2 the entire season.

If Robby is the best and has such a high ceiling why does no coach play him or start him? This is the 3rd coaching staff that has overlooked this special talent

Did we win Saturday because of the offense? If Ron Roberts was running this defense last season, we beat LSU like a drum.

Yeah, you also said he’d barely see the field.

Dude it’s not that serious. I cheer for both.
Hope both throw for 3000 and rush for 1000 this season.
But you won’t answer why 3 coaching staffs have put lesser “talented” players ahead of him. He’s been in a college program what 4 years now. So what is the issue?

Yes thank goodness he has. Not sure we would have won without his 3 yards passing in 2 games and 59 yards rushing.

Have you not been watching football? He’s played in every game of his Auburn career. Freeze just said in his last press conference that he was too good to keep off the field. I think Freeze thought Thorne would be better than he has been. The 1st scrimmage made him rethink that, and it has carried over into the season. For all we know, Holden might come in and beat both of them out before the season ends. I just want to win games and look competent for the recruits. Thorne being timid and not seeing the field well isn’t impressing any recruits.
