Uh, yes, it was the first time for someone to win a football game with a bunch of laterals on a kickoff as time expires. Imitating what Cal did is why everyone does it.

I don't know how you choose between these two. Both unforgettable moments in their own right. One big difference was that everyone in the nation got to watch the Kick Six live as it happened. The only thing that "The Play" has on Kick Six is that it allowed Cal to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat (of course, with Kick Six, Bama was a few feet from winning the game, so this is pretty close, too).
